Maintenance Bridging Platform

Maintenance Bridging Platform

Description

Originally designed for United Airlines and their fleet of Boeing 787 Dreamliners they acquired in 2016-17.

With the engines being detached during maintenance, and standing at 115 inches from the ground up, workers found it challenging to reach the center top of the engine without having to overreach. They commissioned SafeSmart Aviation to design these curved access stairs, which are easily rolled up to each side of the engine and secured into place by lockable castors.

The system is engineered so that the curved section experiences no flexing whilst under load by technicians.
